I declined a timesheet. How do I restart the approval process?

Issue

I just declined a timesheet that needs to be corrected by the employee. Is there a way for me to choose where the declined timesheet starts the approval process so it doesn't have to begin from the first step?

Explanation

When you decline a timesheet, Connect Online will display a Decline Timesheet window on the screen so you can enter an explanation for the declined timesheet and you can select the approval step to assign to the declined timesheet.

The employee who submitted the timesheet will be able to read the reason why the timesheet was declined. That way, they will know what they need to do to correct the timesheet and resubmit it. 

 

Solution

1. Click Decline to decline the timesheet.

2. Use the Decline Timesheet window to enter the reason why the timesheet was declined (optional).

3. Use the Approval Step menu to select the approval step to assign to the timesheet.
